The systems in this room are managed by a Crestron A/V Controller located in the podium in the front of the room. There is a touchscreen that allows users of the room to manage the lights, projectors, cameras, speakers, and window shades. Figure A above shows the default user interface.

If you are setting up the room for the Privacy course, you can follow this procedure to get the room ready for class. It is recommended that you show up 30 minutes prior to the start of class to give yourself time to troubleshoot any problems with the room.

  1. Ensure the whiteboards are moved away from the screens in front of the room. They can be pushed down below the wood paneling fairly easy.
  2. On the Crestron display, ensure that all systems are reset to default configurations by pressing the "EXIT" button in the bottom right corner of the screen. This will put all of the lights back to normal turn off all displays. You should wait 2 minutes for the system to complete these actions.
  3. Once the system has reset, you can Start the Crestron device again. On both the "Left Projector" and "Right Projector" configuration menus, press the "Main PC" button to activate the PC inside the podium. It can take up to a minute for the projectors to warm up.
    • If you do not see a Windows desktop appear on the crestron preview window, wiggle the mouse or press a button on the keyboard located on the podium to attempt to disable the screensaver. If you are still unable to see the screen, ensure the PC on the bottom right of the podium is powered on.
    • If you can not get the PC to display on the crestron screen or the projectors, please call the number on the bottom of the Crestron interface to have Kit-Cats investigate the issue.
  4. Once the desktop is displayed, open a web browser and navigate to the following URL:
  5. Click the "Login using JH Enterprise Authentication" link to log in.
    • Note: You will need to have been set up as a user on this system prior to logging in to get hosting privileges. Please contact your instructor for more information.
  6. Once you've logged in, click "OK"
    • You may be prompted with an error that says "The Meeting must be opened in the Adobe Connect Add-in". If this is the case, simply click the "Download Now" button and install the plugin, following all of the default prompts the application provides.
    • Once the Add-In is installed, simply click the "Try Again" button at the top of the page.
  7. When the Adobe Connect window opens, you should have the option to "Start My Webcam" on the right (See Figure C). Click this button to start the webcam.
    • To change which camera you're using for the presentation:
      1. Click the "Video Conference" button for either projector on the Crestron display to bring up the camera controls (See Figure B).
      2. Use the on-screen controls to choose the appropriate camera and zoom level you wish to use.
      3. When you're done, click the "Main PC" button again to return to the presentation. You should see the new camera in the webcam window.
  8. Click the icon that resembles a microphone at the top of the screen to enable the room microphone in the meeting.
    • You can test the microphone by using the cordless mic on the podium. Click the button on the mic and ensure a green light comes on before speaking. You should see a "wave" appear next to the microphone to indicate you are providing audio.
